Noncredit courses do not carry academic credit
but some provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs). One CEU is defined as
ten contact hours of participation in an organized Continuing Education
experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified
instruction. Nationally recognized, the CEU provides a standardized measure
for accumulating, transferring, and recognizing work through continuing
education programs. Generally, independent study based on the semester hour
equates with 1.5 CEUs. For further information, or to apply for CEUs, write
to the registering institution.
