How Independent Study Works

When you enroll in an independent study course, you will receive a course syllabus or study guide that includes all the information for your course (except Colorado State, CU-Boulder, MSCD, and UNC courses where you will receive ordering information). Follow your guide closely; it will explain exactly how to complete the course. You will complete assignments and mail, e-mail, or fax them as instructed for grading. Most courses also require you to take supervised exams. Successful completion of a course depends on meeting all course requirements, including homework and exams.
