Travel and Tourism - Certificate in Travel Planning

     
This course continues throughout the year. The School of Business Administration, the Colorado Center for Tourism Research, and the Extended Studies Program at Fort Lewis College offer an online course curriculum in travel and tourism. Completion of all courses in the curriculum leads to a Certificate in Travel Planning. Join us in exploring the fastest growing industry in the world! Learn the essentials of travel planning and start getting more enjoyment and value for yourself as well as others who enjoy the travel experience. When you successfully complete these courses, you will be able to plan and create itineraries for yourself and others. There is no specific timetable for these courses. You may begin taking any of the courses as soon as your registration information and fees are processed. Each online course takes between 20 and 30 hours to complete and includes all materials and instructor support.

It is recommended, but not mandatory, that you complete each course in the sequence listed. If you are only interested in enhancing your current knowledge of a particular area in travel planning, you may enroll in those that specifically interest you. You must, however, complete all courses in the curriculum to earn your certificate in travel planning.

Please Note: For nondegree-seeking students, the fee is $98 per course. For degree-seeking students, the fee is subject to the current rate of tuition and fees at Fort Lewis College.

Travel Sales and Trends This course provides a foundation for the rest of the courses in this program of study. Students learn what it takes to be a travel professional as well as how to work with travel professionals. Discover successful sales steps for telephone reservations agents and travel professionals who work with clients one-on-one, and learn how these individuals assist one another with travel plans. Trends in the travel industry including the use of the Web for travel resources and information on possible careers in the industry are also explored. Register through Fort Lewis.
